Outdoor Ice Rink Shelters

The Grant Road Outdoor Ice Rink shelter is scheduled to be open between December 22, 2018 and February 25, 2019 weather permitting. There are 2 separate ice surfaces; one boarded and the other non-boarded. Hockey sticks and pucks are not be used on the non-boarded ice rink.

The City workers are now flooding the ice surfaces more frequently to build up the thickness around the exterior of the buildings. Additional exterior benches have been ordered to provide a convenient spot to change skates when the shelter is not open.

The scheduled times for the shelter to be open with supervision are 12:30 pm to 5:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday plus 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm every night of the week, if volunteer supervisors are available.

The Elsie Dorsey Park Outdoor Ice Rink shelter located on Castle Road is an unsupervised shack due to no volunteers and is a non-boarded skating rink.

Supervision volunteers can contact Brian at 306-584-0276.
