Outdoor Rink Supervisors Needed
December 10, 2021

Interested in a  2 ½ hour shift per week?

* Warm-up shelter open: Saturday and Sunday – 12:30 to 5:30 pm except holidays.

* December 19, 2021 to February 20, 2022 (weather permitting).

DUTIES: 

  • Issued a key to unlock the rink warm-up shelter and stay on site.
  • Deal with discipline situations that could result in injury to persons or damage to City property that may occur on the ice and/or in or around the shelter.
  • In case of an injury, ensure through whatever means possible that parents or guardians are contacted; or in the case of a serious injury, contact appropriate medical personnel.
  • Not required to flood ice or scrape snow at the rink.

Honorarium, based on the number of hours worked, will be paid to supervisors over 16 years of age.

Free Skating!
December 9, 2021

At the Balfour Arena (on Massey Road), every Wednesday, 3:00 – 4:00pm, from now until March 16, 2022. No admission fee, and masks are required. Sponsored by the Hillsdale and Whitmore Park Community Associations, in cooperation with the City of Regina.



Annual General Meeting
November 10, 2021

UPDATE:  Postponed until Nov 24th.  Same time, same place!

Whitmore Park Community Association Annual General Meeting will be held on November 17, 2021 at 7:00pm. This meeting will be held at the South Leisure Centre. All community members are welcome!



Good Neighbour Guide

Are you a newcomer to Regina, a long-time resident, a homeowner, or a tenant looking for more information about your neighbourhood responsibilities? Regina’s Good Neighbour Guide will assist you in getting started. The guide provides a friendly, helpful overview of dozens of City bylaws and rules, all of which are designed to help all residents be good neighbours.

  • Responsible Pet Ownership
  • Landscaping
  • Snow and Ice on Sidewalks
  • Parking

Forever…in motion
September 19, 2021

Forever . . . in motion (FIM) is a program that helps older adults become physically active through volunteer led physical activity groups.  The program includes endurance, strength, balance and flexibility activities, which may be performed either in sitting or standing position.

In Whitmore Park, this program runs Mondays at 1:00pm at Our Saviour Lutheran Church (190 Massey Road).  There is no fee. Some equipment required.

WPCA Board Meetings

The WPCA normally holds its Board Meetings on the third Wednesday of every month except for July, August and December. We encourage the public to attend any or all of our Board meetings to learn about or bring forward issues, initiatives, or concerns that affect you as a resident or Whitmore Park as a whole.  We also welcome ideas that you may have for the improvement of Whitmore Park.  We hope to see you soon!

WPCA is now officially part of the world-renowned non-profit organization, Little Free Library, Take a Book, Leave a Book”, book exchange.  We’re excited to have joined this worldwide network of over 30,000 Little Free Libraries, with six of our own (and more coming) in Whitmore Park!
